Let’s Talk Running Watches

Hi friends, I hope everyone is experiencing much joy on their runs and little to no misery. Crowd souring time: I am looking to get a new running watch soon and though I’ve been a Garmin guy for a long time, I am open to any brand. My current watch is pretty basic but still has a ton of features I don’t use. Here’s what I’m looking for (in addition to the basics):

– Solid Battery Life
– Bright Screen and Large Display (I have old man eyes)
– Barometric Altimeter
– Map Navigation
– Heart Rate
– Easy-to-use

Please tell me what watch you have and tell me one or two things you love about it and a couple of things you don’t.

If you have any topics — like why do all my Nathan water bottles eventually leak or my running vest/pack has too many pockets and I can’t find anything — please feel free to post here. It’s fun to learn and complain a little.

Also, some of you will have races/runs soon and I’d love to hear about them. Feel free to post about your experiences. I love race reports, they are a great way to discover new events and places to explore.

Lastly, this seat cover is the best piece of swag I ever got at a race, especially if you drive to places to run in August. Thanks to the fine folks at Howland’s Neck Ache Ultramarathon held at Vosburg Neck State Park.

Stay hydrated, go Birds!
